feels like it’s been forever since the last time i was here! but it’s only been a few days … i’ve missed my little webbie home

i hope you all had a wonderful Christmas… we’ve had a great few days… Christmas was spent working for me. then coach & i realized we had nothing to eat for Christmas dinner…oopsie! no stores open and as i began searching for restaurants, my oh my… wasn’t sure what we were going to do…but i’ll be damned if Chinese eateries aren’t open on Christmas! so that’s what we did… China Star buffet for Christmas dinner… at least it was by choice and not because the Bumpuses’ dogs ate the turkey or anything crazy like that…

and out wait staff didn’t sing to us either … dang it

but we enjoyed our buffet…. teryaki chicken, steamed rice, lo mein, shrimp, fried rice, and on and on and on

then Monday we got up and headed out of town…down to Rockport to visit with mom and dad2… very nice visit… unless you think about the trips to the dentist… eek…(i must say that i REALLY love having dentists in the family)

found out i need a root canal… blasted crap… not at all looking forward to that… going to go back in the spring sometime to take care of it, unless of course i start having pain before then… and i am getting a new fangled mouth guard too!

the worse part of my dental experience was the taking of impressions… for whatever reason, this process does not go well with me… my mouth is long and narrow… the trays are HUGE in my narrow mouth… and my back teeth never seem to make it into the impression mold… so 3 attempts later…. big ass metal tray overloaded with that lovely silly putty like gunk shoved up in my mouth, oozing down the back of my throat causing the most lovely of gags… ugh… i think at one point it had to have been working it’s way up my throat and out my nostrils… lovely

mom cooked most nights we were there… we had chili spaghetti one night, smoked turkey with green bean casserole and garlic mashed potatoes another… and one night we went out for some really good mexican food…

coach was able to get in a few workouts at the local gym which is always good…he goes to the same gym each time we are down visiting… and each time he comments that if he gets the job down in that area that he wants to join… it’s a pretty nice gym right on the water even

i managed to take a few pictures and will get them posted in a day or so… pelicans, seagulls, and the like… they are almost tame down there… and the pelicans are the biggest damn things i’ve ever seen!

there were no big mishaps, trips, or goofy episodes to report on… boring i know… oh well… not every day can provide blog fodder moments 🙂

  1. HAPPY belated Christmas ~ Love the Chinese food for Christmas dinner idea.
Sherri, Sherri I send you zillions of good wihes and blessings for the new year ~ for both you and coach ~ you sure are starting it off in the brilliant light of joy. Many hugs to you my friend.

  2. Awaiting the photos. I have not really seen many pelicans this year yet. Lots of little birds, geese, egrets, hawks etc. but no pelicans! So, hurry up and post some!! and Happy New Year to you, coach, and all your family and friends.

  3. They are having trouble with pelicans in one of our coastal towns. The pelicans like to perch on the light poles. And if more than one pelican perches at once the pole bends. Which far too many of them have. They are amazing birds.
Looking forward to your photos. Happy New Year.
