A few posts ago I left you with a photo of me that is rather unbecoming. It broke my heart to see myself through the eyes of another. And isn’t that really what a photo is? Sometimes the lens can be so unforgiving!
I cried at my desk when I saw myself that way. And I made a vow to myself. That person is not who I want to be. That person is now how I feel on the inside. So I vowed to change it.
The one eating style I know works for me in the weight loss arena is Atkins.
For the past 9 days I have been eating on average 14 carbs per day, and NO sugar… not one little grain of that goodness has past my lips. The first few days were difficult. I was hungry. I was craving. But by the 4th day I was doing pretty good. I’m not hungry at all anymore… even when it’s meal time.
My typical day of nutrition goes a something like this:
- Protein shake
- Atkins bar
- Shaved chicken breast with mayo/dijon sauce
- 1 oz sharp cheddar cheese
- Some type of meat (hamburger patty, chicken, steak)
- Shredded lettuce with chopped cucumber, ranch dressing
- Pork rinds
And you know what? I’ve dropped 9 pounds! In 9 days!
The weight loss will slow down over the next week or so but I’m on the right track now. I have 40 more pounds to lose and I will do it!
