This disease is sort of like 1 step forward, 2 steps back. I had a day earlier this week that I felt really quite good for…the whole day. I think it was Monday. I didn’t overdo it because I knew I’d pay for it later. I just really enjoyed feeling decent for a change. Then Tuesday came along and shot that all to shit. And Wednesday continued with Tuesday’s agenda.

I feel like the world is tilted on its axis …. Leaning way to the left. It’s the oddest feeling. It reminds me of riding some whirly-spinning-uppy/downy ride thing at the carnival… you know, you ride it 3 or 4 or 12 times then later on when lying in bed you feel as if you are still on the ride? Yeah. Like that. Except it’s all leaning left.

I got called up to the school yesterday to buy a new t-shirt. It’s pink. They are getting ready for breast cancer awareness month so they’ve had the mascot plastered onto a pink shirt. I’m fine with it. I did, however, suggest that maybe they should consider another color as well…. like maybe a beautiful orange! Breast cancer is awful…terrible… I don’t wish it on anyone ever. But…. but… there are so many other causes out there that get pushed to the side or simply ignored in …. like MS. I must say , my orange shirt idea was very well received. Maybe in a few months there will be some orange Vela Sabercats shirts available…. that would be way cool.

There is rain coming our way… or so they say anyway. There is a hurricane in the pond just west of the great states. This storm is pushing rain our way! I would’ve never thought a storm over there would benefit us… I’ve been more inclined to watch the storms in the Gulf… either way, I’m grateful! The sky is all dark & stormy looking right now as I sit here looking out the window of the tin can (there’s more than one window just for clarification).

I’m going to pick up my birthday present today… it’s a bit early but that’s okay. Coach is buying me a camera bag! Yay! No more stuffing everything into my oversize shoulder bag. I’ve looked, tried on, fingered, & mauled a variety of bags over the past few months. I’ve settled on the Lowepro Passport Sling bag….

It’s comfortable, it’s big enough to hold my camera + an extra lens, a sketchbook, pens, wallet, cell phone, water bottle…. perfect! I’ll pick it up today so I can try it out this week. I have 2 football games & 2 volleyball games this weekend, as well as a portrait session. I can’t believe I’m actually getting paid jobs…. blows my mind really. Hopefully, all my pictures won’t be leaning to the left ha!

I must go nap now. Lots of napping will be done today and tomorrow morning. I find that I can make it through a game with some good nap time before hand. The nice thing is the games are spread out over 3 days…. tonight is JV football, Friday is varsity football… then Saturday JV & varsity volleyball (an hour each game). Sunday is the portrait session. There is plenty of room for napping & downtime in all these days.

I need a good Italian food recipe. This weekend for the coaches we are taking Italian food. I know how to throw pizza in the oven and toss up a pot of spaghetti.

Being an adult is like looking both ways before you cross the street and then getting hit by an airplane.

  1. I think you’ll do well with Muff’s lasagna recipe. It sounds delish.
Is your art leaning to the left as well? What about your photos? j/k

  2. Oh yes. I lean to the left here as well. It is just so strange that a good day (relatively) can come out of nowhere. And it seems to me that the bad days that follow it are just as evil as the bad days that follow overdoing things. Not fair. But then the sucky, sucky disease is.
I am so with you on the need to support a range of causes. Breast cancer is somehow a ‘sexy cancer’ and gets heaps of coverage. Cancer is cancer – and they are all vile.
    And then you have MS.
And Motor Neurone Disease, and so many other worthy causes.
I love your bag, and have a wonderful birthday.

  3. I, too, resemble the Leaning Tower of Pisa at times! Speaking of Pisa — that’s Italian — how about lasagna? It can be done really easily Do a day ahead!Take a long baking dish (I use a 9×13 pyrex) spread a little jarred pasta sauce on the bottom. Lay out uncooked pasta over the sauce, layering slightly to fit. then mix a large container of ricotta cheese with two eggs, and put a layer over the noodles. Sprinkle with dried basil and dried oregano, then shredded mozzarella. Repeat all layers until you reach the top and make the top layer of noodles. Add more mozzarella to the top. Cover tightly with parchment or waxed paper and then aluminum foil. Put it in the fridge until the next day. Take out any waxed paper, but keep aluminum. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, then remove foil and cook for 15 minutes. Heat a little sauce and put it over the top. Slice in squares. You can serve it this way or cook up some meatballs, short ribs, or sausage to serve with it.

  4. Hey gypsy lady, I’m in Houston as you probably already know. That leaning left stuff is for the political blogs, so please refrain from that description in the future! Just kidding….hugs

    • How is your cousin doing? Any changes? I’ve been thinking of you all, praying that he gains movement… I’m so happy to hear he has the brothers in blue by his side. They will be a wonderful support for him and you all. Let them embrace you.

If I walk backwards, I’m leaning right lol I’ll just have to go backwards everywhere 🙂
