Wouldn’t you know it? I finally get to see my family after months of living far, far away in another land… and I get sick. Dammit. The sick isn’t a bad sick, just a head cold with slight cough…but those of you with MS understand what that means… the stinkin’ beast is wide awake and doing his thing. I spend all this time at home, alone, doing my thing…. why couldn’t I get sick then? Instead, I have to do it when I have family to spend time with. We are at my mom’s house…it’s a beautiful place. My brother & his family came in for the day. And I hobbled, ate, then slept. Pft.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’ll write more later… my nose is dripping, my mouth is dry, and my couch is hacking…

Oh, the highlight of today will be when I learn the results of the A1C test…. last night I did a finger stick and my BS was 192 I’m the old battle ship that has wrecked and is slowly falling apart… Rusty, musty, dusty… falling apart bit by bit.

Being an adult is like looking both ways before you cross the street and then getting hit by an airplane.

  1. So sorry Sherri. Fighting my lousy beast myself right now.

  2. Sorry to hear your Thanksgiving was less than stellar for you Sherri. I just got over a cold myself, so can empathize. Canadian Thanksgiving was last month so my cold did not interfere with family time like yours.
    Stay inspired!

  3. Oh, Sherri, I’m so sorry you got sick! Yes, I know what that means with MS. In my warped mind, I picture it as our immune cells looking like little PacMen. They run around and gobble up the infection, but get side tracked when they see the bright, shiny myelin. So off they go to devour that, and we’re left with more decline. I hope the results are good from the blood test. Let us know. In the meantime, get plenty of rest and get well quickly!
