I sort of like that title… might be a good name for the blog ha!
I mentioned a few posts back that I’ve been working the book Sustainably Creative… it’s about working little and often… basically, the idea is to do something creative for 20 minutes every day…. this method is great because I don’t get tired. I have the energy to keep it up daily… and at the same time I’m practicing and building a sketchbook body of work. Here’s what I drew this morning (the idea is to draw whatever is in front of me no matter what it is). I was lazy and didn’t feel like busting out the scanning type machine …. this is a crappy ol cell phone picture but you get the idea:
It’s mind-boggling to me that in 5 weeks football starts! They have posted the schedule for the Sabercats….
I’m excited to see how this new team is going to do. Most brand new schools start out their first season at the sub-varsity level – but not us. We are playing varsity ball the first season. I say “we” like I’m all up in that game…really I should be referring to “them” or Coach or something…
This morning I got up and went back to the store to finish up the grocery
store shopping. My suspicions were dead on. 8 o’clock in the A.M. is the PERFECT time for grocery shopping around these parts. There were maybe 50 people in the entire store… no blocked isles, no booger-picking-smearing-sticky-screaming kids everywhere (I really do like kids, they just make me crazy sometimes), and there were no carts left idling in the middle of the road as the driver walks away to find that missed item on the other side of the store. It was such a pleasant experience that I stopped ½ way through and visited the in-store Golden Arches for a sausage mcmuffin and a drink. I was able to enjoy a bit o’breakfast while shopping at a nice easy pace. Ahhhhhh.
We just got home from eating out. Our first dining adventure in the Valley. We’ve been asking around for recommendations on a good Mexican food joint and many people have told us the same restaurant. So tonight was the night. We weren’t impressed… and my tongue is missing a few layers of skin! I don’t know that I’ve ever had guacamole that was so hot! Holy cow! I was afraid my core body temp was going to rise and my MS would start flaring from the spicy stuff… After a smooth gallon of tea and some fried tortillas, the heat abated slightly. I guess we should’ve been asking instead “where is the good gringo Mexican food?” haha
My mom sent me a few pictures tonight… it amazes me how strong the gene pool is in this family. All us gals looks so much alike…
Me and Ashley Christmas 1985… Ashley was 4 months old… and I look so young! Check out that mullet cap-cut hair style
