It’s been a while but I thought I might get the ol’ daybook going again….
Outside my window – it’s dark ha! I’m getting a bit of a late start on this post today. Been busy helping Coach getting his presentation finished up for work. I am really enjoying my little “yard” here at the new park. I have my patio area pretty much set up… nice grass, the bird feeder, and my plants. I’ve planted the sego in the ground hoping it will start growing big soon.
I am listening to - the television show called Perception is on right now. I don’t really watch the telly much but Coach likes having the background noise. That’s one point we are different on… I love to sit in the quiet. As a matter of fact, when he leaves for work in the morning, I turn everything off and relish the silence. If I turn anything on, it’s music.
I am wondering – what’s in store for us financially in the next few months. I’m a bit apprehensive. There is still this shadow of guilt hanging over me because I’m not working. I’m waiting on the disability folks to make their decision. Eggshells.
Around the house – I’m just about done unpacking boxes. I have just a few left and they are mostly office supply type stuff… and stuff that will be going to work with Coach. I’ve hung some pictures and other wing dings on the walls. It’s really becoming “home”.
In the kitchen – it’s cleanJ! One of the things that I am proud of is that I’ve been cooking and cleaning on a very regular basis since I’ve stopped working. I actually have the energy to do some of those tasks again. It makes me feel so good to be helping out. Before this move, Coach was doing all the cooking and most of the cleaning. I felt awful about that.
I am reading – The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. I’ve just started it but I can see it’s going to be an interesting read. When I was reading the first few pages I thought it quite odd… it is written in the voice of child. And it’s very “rainmanish”. Then I turned it over to look at the back cover… wonder of all wonders! It’s a story about a teen living with Asperger’s.
I am creating – every single day. I have been working on some free online drawing classes…sketching. And I’ve been working through the books offered by Michael Nobbs over at Sustainably Creative. It’s been a lot of fun and pretty revealing in some areas.
One of my favorite things – this is always a tough one for me. There are so many things that I relish and cherish and just love. If I have to pick one right now, well, it would have to be my camera (thanks Jan!) It travels with me everywhere I go.
Plans for the rest of the week – let’s see… this one is pretty easy really… drawing, watercolors, blogging, snap a few photos… hit up the grocery store, do a bit of laundry. All sounds like pretty normal stuff to me LOL
And last but not least….
A photo to share:
This was my friend Santee. He was the lead singer in a band called Eleventh Hour. I knew him many years ago when I was living in Los Angeles and doing band photography. I don’t know what ever came of him but I think of him from time to time and hope that he found success. He is an incredible singer and song writer.
